When syncing master folder of pics, no way to navigate to single pic

I am using XP, Apple TV, and large disk of pictures. After I put iTunes on, I chose ATV tab and chose the folder to sync. I love the slide show. However I can't just navigate to a single picture ... like if I identified one in the screensaver mode. With 300 pictures in a directory sometimes, I can't go to see the last 30 without having to go through all 300.

I can't believe that such a fine product would be ignoring such a user need ... am I missing some software here?
