Default best quality format to watch dvd's on apple tv???

I have a lot of my personal dvd's saved on my computer (vob (standard dvd) files)...What would be the best format to convert them to so I can sync them with my apple tv. Space is not an issue. I want to convert them to the best format possible that apple tv will support. Also how close to dvd quality will it be?

TIA

Did you have any luck finding anything? This forum seems somewhat scarce.

If you are feeling a little adventurous, you can hack your appleTV to allow the playback of VOB's either from a mounted network drive or copying the vob files to the unit and using either nitoTV or Sapphire.

As far as conversion, you should check the tutorials/how to guides at videohelp.com. They have conversion guides for just about any format you'd be interested in. I've had good luck with videora or the AppleTV converter that Videora has.
