Default What It Will and Will Not Do

I bought and returned an Apple TV when they first came out because it would not do what I needed. I am hoping it now does however I can't get a straight answer from sales people including the Apple Store ones so hopefully one of you can answer my questions.

Can you stream photos from a Mac or do they need to reside on the ATV's hard drive?

If they must reside on the ATV when you add additional photos must it go back through the entire libary or will it just quickly find and add whatever is new?

Thanks in advance.

In ATV2 I can't seem to find the option to change source. I don't think it streams content from iPhoto.

When syncing content it's very efficient. It only syncs whats new.

Default The Streaming Question

I've gotten mixed replies on the Apple forum concerning whether ATV will stream photos with some saying it will, others saying it will not. The first generation which I bought and returned, did not stream and I don't want the current one unless it does so until I know for sure, no sale.

take 2 will allow you to view flickr and .mac photo streams, I'm not sure about streaming from a local computer though....I don't want to update yet since the only thing that I would want is the photos (could care less about rentals), but I don't want to break any of my current hacks.
