Default one movie file for both iPhone and Apple TV

Hello all,

I'm seeking suggestions on what settings would give me the best experience on both an iPhone and my Apple TV. I've reached this point because RIPing for both devices is time consuming as well as taking up way too much disc space.

I'm interested in anyone's recommendations on how to accomplish creating a file for my iPhone that will also look great on my 30" HDTV using Apple TV.

I am on a Mac using Handbrake.

thanks.

As the iPhone has a maximum resolution of
640x480 for 4:3 and
640x360 for 16:9, then you can't really go above these, if you want the same file to play on both devices.

Remember when you purchase an iTunes movie in SD, it comes as 640x
If you purchase a HD movie, you get both 1280x and 640x

I can't see a way around having two files, if 640x is not acceptable on your ATV.
