No I believe that is the real deal. I look forward to Linux and windows running on it shortly..

Using the guide from applrtvhacks.net I was able to get full OS X running on my AppleTV with very little hassle (granted it took about 8 hours to create a backup image of the original hard drive). It's now a perfect little workstation at my wifes desk. The ethernet issue has been resolved, though the audio still isn't functional and the graphics are limited to 1024*768. Once I got the ethernet patched, the AppleTV also became my Wireless 802.11n router using OS X's internet sharing! So for my money, this AppleTV has been a great investment. Now, to get the audio working...
