Default How to convert iTunes protected M4P to MP3

As the most popular online music store iTunes has millions of customers which download thousands of music every second.

M4P – a copyright protected iTunes format of "protected AAC". It is a format of downloaded music from iTunes store that can be listened to only through the iTunes compatible players like iPod.

So, if you want to listen to iTunes music with other mp3 players such as Zune, Creative Zen or share them with your friends, you have to convert M4P to MP3.

Now, we can convert M4P to MP3 with two methods.

1. Burning and re-import.
2. Convert M4P to MP3 with a Professional Music Converter.

Solution 1: M4P->CD-> MP3

To convert M4P to MP3, you can burn M4P onto a CD (using the iTunes CD burning option), then re-import the CD as unprotected MP3 into the iTunes library.

1. Buy songs on iTunes.

2. Insert a blank CD. (You’d better use a rewrite CD which can be used circularly and use some software like Nero to wipe off the music files you have processed.)

Note: You need to change iTunes settings in "Edit"->" Preferences" before burn and import.

Follow the picture instructions below:

3. Go to File->Create a New Playlist

4. Drag and Drop files you want from your library to the New Playlist.

5. Right-click playlist and select "Burn Playlist to Disc" or you can left- click “Burn Disc”

6.After conversion, left-click "import CD" to import CD files to iTunes library as MP3 format.
(And you can find the unprotected MP3 file by the side of the original file in > "My Document" > "My music" > "iTunes".)
